It's no secret that Instagram and TikTok are THE BEST platforms for selling your offers.

Whether you are product-based, service-based or online business-based... using social media as a marketing tool is a no-brainer.

BUT, there is a caveat - some people are afraid to show up on social media and fear they will come across as "sales-y" or "desperate".

Before I share with you the 5 ways to sell on Instagram Stories, I need to tell you something...

It's normal to not make sales everyday. I know there are people out there flaunting making a daily sale but guess what,  they didn't start there! They started with their consistency REGARDLESS of getting sales.

So, as you head into this lesson, it's important that you remember the magic happens in the CONSISTENTLY SHOWING UP. It won't happen overnight and it won't happen the first time you stay consistent for 10+ days. But one day, it will pop-off and it will all make sense to you!

5 WAYS TO SELL ON INSTAGRAM STORIES WITHOUT FEELING SALES-Y:

Pre-work: you must understand your ideal customer like the back of your hand.

1. ANNOYANCE

How can you describe something that is annoying or frustrating that your ideal customer ALSO finds annoying and frustrating?

Think, small scale annoyance and nothing too negative. Use your storytelling as your superpower with this example.

IDEA: I was so annoyed at the gym this morning because for some reason, everyone and their brother was working out at the same time and I couldn't find any open machine that I needed.
^Correlate this to what your ideal client might be going through in their current journey; ie.  ideal customer often gets annoyed that more and more people are starting to sell offers within their niche, you share the freebie/ lead magnet that helps them STAND OUT amongst the noise.

2. BEHIND THE SCENES

Honestly, you cannot do enough of this. I know we sometimes feel vulnerable sharing our creation process but it's in this type of share that allows our audience to connect with us, understand us, trust us and like us.

IDEA: If you host coaching calls or perhaps you hold a container on a FB group or telegram chat... share about a recent interaction with a current customer and what the situation and result was.
^After you finish the entire story of the interaction, share the offer for others to learn more about what you just described

3. BE THE CONNECTOR QUEEN

This skill is truly a gift and I honestly believe that most of us overlook this technique but it's one of the most POWERFUL skills to portray.

What I mean is, how can you create a metaphor or an analogy that helps your ideal customer make sense of the message you are hoping to get across.

IDEA: You tell a story about how important it is to show up on social media consistently and compare it to having an actual storefront. You'd open your doors everyday, you'd prioritize the products that are showcased in the window for those that are window shopping, you'd create a VIBE inside, you'd show personality and flare, you'd be OPEN every single day. This can relate to your social media storefront and why it's important to show up every single day with huge energy.
^After you describe the analogy, use a poll to ask if this helped tie things together and connect the dots

4. SHARE THE STRUGGLE

Sharing the struggle is not something you should do OFTEN, I am talking MAYBE 1 time per week, better yet, 1 time every 2 weeks.

Why? You don't want to appear as a complainer or someone that can't get it together... but there is also magic in sharing your mess.

These struggles don't always have to be tied into your offer or within your niche, but they need to make sense.

IDEA: I set my alarm for 6am because I want to get up earlier than I usually do. But this morning I quite literally pressed snooze FIVE times! I ended up more frustrated and disappointed than if I were to just leave my alarm set for 6:30am... I learned that I need to honor my word and stick to the goal instead of hesitating or pushing it off and it reminded me about who I used to be before I decided to create an online business. I would hesitate, push it off and SNOOZE on certain ideas. I decided that staying in action was the most important thing I could do, so I created a system to stay in action.
^Share the system that helped you overcome the struggle

*IMPORTANT: Notice that I didn't stay in the struggle and seek "support" from my audience, I shared how I overcame the struggle and how I am helping THEM DO THE SAME! Very important to share the scabs and not the open wounds.

5. THROWBACK

Find an older post of your own and share it to your story.

Use the on-screen text to highlight what the education was inside of this post and how YOU show up in this message different than most. Describe your unique framework, approach or strategy.
